Ramallah/Westbank (Palästina). During a journey to Israel and the Palestine Westbank an art-transmitter journalist from Germany on May 2 made a visit to the International Academy of Art Palestine in Ramallah. He joined a special tour, guided by the Palestine arts expert Issa Freij, who showed great interest in the European Art-Transmitter project supporting handicapped painters of the so called outsider art and in their vitalizing painting.

Regarding the International Academy of Art Palestine, the visitors were informed that this is an institution-building project which aims to develop a higher education facility specialized in the arts. The Academy aspires to be an autonomous, distinctive and professional institution, granting Bachelor of Arts degrees in Contemporary Visual Arts and, eventually, Master level degrees for future artists. It will will strengthen artistic development and communication by ensuring the sustainability of the Palestinian arts and culture sector. The Academy is essentially a Palestinian venture that is anchored in its own culture to maintain the collective Palestinian memory, history and cultural identity. It will offer the local population and the international community new images of Palestine and Palestinians that situate Palestinian art within the international art community.

The project to establish the International Academy of Art Palestine was funded by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it is currently engaged with the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education. Furthermore, the Palestinian Association for Contemporary Art (PACA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture.

With this special group of German and European artists, journalists and gallery people, there was an interesting detailed discussion about current achievements and problems of Palestinian artists, who e.g. are handicapped through Israel restrictions.

Münster. Wie Verein und Radio Kaktus Münster informieren, zeigt das Sozialamt der Stadt vom 14. Mai bis 24. August 2012 sechzig ausgewählte Bilder von so genannten Outsider Art-Künstlern, - Arbeiten europäischer und außereuropäischer Herkunft aus der Sammlung Demirel, Wuppertal.

Die interessante Ausstellung ist Montag bis Mittwoch von 8.00 bis 16.00 Uhr, Donnerstag 8.00 bis 18.00 Uhr und freitags von 8.00 bis 13.00 Uhr in der Hafenstraße 8, 48153 Münster zu besichtigen. Zur Vernissage ist für Freitag, den 11. Mai 2012 um 12.00 Uhr herzlich eingeladen.

Tel Aviv und Ramallah. Zu einer zehntägigen Studienreise in einer größeren besonderen Reisegruppe sind in den letzten Apriltagen zwei Art-Transmitter-Künstler aus Luxemburg bzw. dem Saarland nach Israel und Palästina gereist. Während des Aufenthalts besuchen sie israelische und palästinensische KünstlerInnen bzw. Kunsteinrichtungen, auch mit interkultureller bzw. integrativer Prägung für gehandicapte Maler. Vorgesehen sind Besichtigungen und Begegnungen in Jerusalem, Tiberias, Tel Aviv und Ramallah.

Vor Ort sollen neue Bilder in Aquarell und Öl entstehen, bei Künstlerautor Gangolf Peitz zudem Lyrik. Art-Transmitter berichtet zu dieser Zeit aktuell per Internetinformation direkt aus dem Nahen Osten in Wort und Bild.
